-----------
Story #1: The judge in the corruption trial of former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, U.S. District Judge James Zagel, appears to be steering both the prosecution and the defense away from calling convicted felon (graphic) Tony Rezko as a witness. This is extremely curious because Rezko was once considered a very key witness for the prosecution against Blagojevich. A recorded phone conversation between Blagojevich and his Chief of Staff John Harris on November 7th, 2008 seems to tie Rezko to Barack Obama. At one point, Blagojevich referred to himself as being "more pristine on Rezko than (Obama)." Zagel has already denied the Defense's motion to subpoena Obama and the transcripts of his interview with FBI investigators in the wake of the Blagojevich arrest. He has also denied access to any summary of those interviews. In addition to having especially sensitive ears when the name of Obama is brought up during the trial, Zagel seems to be overtly discouraging both sides not to call Rezko as a witness. An item of particular interest to the defense is a letter that Tony Rezko wrote to Blagojevich from jail. In that letter, Rezko allegedly told the former governor that federal officials were pressuring him to make up stories about Blagojevich to implicate him. (end graphic) In what many view as a very important piece of evidence, it is not known why the presiding judge in this case would seemingly discredit a witness tied to that evidence before any testimony is heard. Former Kentucky Supreme Court judicial candidate Marcus Carey weighed in on the controversy saying, “When the stakes are so high, particularly where the involvement of the President of the United States in a potential criminal conspiracy is concerned, the public's trust in the judicial system, and in the presidency, deserves nothing less than full and complete transparency.” We at CleanTV wholeheartedly agree with Marcus, who by the way is the newest CleanTV talk show host. His program may be viewed in the Talk Show category at CleanTV.com. Back to Barack: Could it be that Barack Obama has friends in high places in Chicago? Of course he does. But just how long can his influence hold out while his popularity ratings are plunging? And how much longer will his political allies keep falling on swords for him as the impeachment drums beat ever louder?
--------------
#2: Following the diagnosis of breast-cancer, internationally-beloved disability advocate, artist and quadriplegic (graphic) Joni Eareckson Tada, has come through surgery successfully and is hopeful of a positive prognosis. According to Doug Mazza the president of the Joni and friends International Disability Center in Agoura Hills, California, "Joni's surgery was completed successfully, and she is resting comfortably preparing to begin the rest of her course of treatment in the next few days." (end graphic) Tada's family physician, Dr. Geoffrey Drew said, "Joni's cancer was determined to be Stage Two, and while some lymph nodes were affected and Joni will need chemotherapy to follow up this surgery, this is a highly survivable cancer and we anticipate a positive prognosis." A quadriplegic for more than 40-years, Tada is founder of Joni and friends International Disability Center, and has been a strong advocate for people with disabilities.

Story #3: A disturbing report today from Bekasi, Indonesia where hard-line Muslims are being told to prepare for a (graphic) "religious war." Logan Maurer of the Washington, D-C-based International Christian Concern reports, a call to form religious militia units was made at the 2nd Bekasi Islamic Conference, a gathering of two-thousand representatives from regional Islamic organizations. (end graphic) Nine of the attending organizations joined to create a group called the Bekasi Islamic Presidium with the task of preparing local mosques for a war against what they called, "Christianization." Logan Maurer went on to say, "These recent events expose a very frightening trend where radical Muslims are willing to go to any length to silence Christians." Maurer also stated, "The fact that they are threatening to use paramilitary action and that they are also taking concrete steps towards forming militias shows the degree to which Christians, and ultimately religious freedom, is in danger."
----------------- Story #4: Our final story is about a tiny pet (graphic) Chihuahua named Manchas that saved the life of a 4-year-old boy when a neighbor's pit bulls chewed their way through a fence and entered the northern California apartment. Manchas jumped in between the child and the pit bulls and put up a good fight but was eventually dragged out in the clenched jaws of the muscular dog. Heroes come in all shapes and sizes and today’s hero is Manchas the Chihuahua. (end graphic)
