This is CleanTV family-friendly national news on demand. I’m Jerry McGlothlin reporting what’s happening on Wednesday, July14, 2010.
-----------
Story #1: British Petroleum took a major step toward capping the out of control (graphic) Deepwater Horizon oil well, which has been spewing millions of gallons of crude oil into the Gulf of Mexico for nearly three months, now. (end of graphic) Engineers successfully lowered an 18-foot containment cap onto the wellhead, and are now making final adjustments before testing the shut-off valves that could end the contamination once and for all. The valves will be monitored for pressure as they are closed one by one, limiting and then, hopefully, eliminating the oil spill. The testing process is expected to take about 48 hours to complete. Meanwhile, work continues on BP’s back-up plan, the drilling of a relief well, that is expected to be completed by the end of this month.
--------------------------
Story #2: Illustrating that a promise made is not necessarily a promise kept, the Obama administration is again under fire for violating its own ethics pledges. On the campaign trail, candidate Obama initially pledged not to hire former lobbyists. (FULL SCREEN graphic) But once in office, that directive was “clarified” to mean that any lobbyists hired would not be given the opportunity to influence any decisions involving their former employers. (end graphic) Now, that promise, too, has gone by the wayside with the disclosure that White House Deputy Chief Technology Officer Andrew McLaughlin has directly participated in formulating policies that would impact Google, where McLaughlin had formerly served as the head of Global Public Policy and Government Affairs. McLaughlin has been reprimanded for his exchange of e-mails with Google executives.
-------------------
Story #3: You might want to keep a close eye on the Middle East again. Russia’s President, Dmitry Medvedev (MED-veh-dev), says Iran is making progress toward being able to create nuclear weapons. This admission came even as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was telling an American television audience that it would be a mistake to believe that (FULL SCREEN graphic) Iran’s nuclear ambitions can “be contained.” However, Netanyahu added that such irrational regimes cannot be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons. (end graphic) He labeled Tehran’s efforts to join the nuclear club, “very, very dangerous.” When pressed for a deadline when diplomatic efforts to derail a nuclear Iran could be replaced by military options, Netanyahu declined to say. ------------------------
Story #4: A trial date has been set for September 16th in District Court in Dearborn, Michigan with four Christians charged with breach of the peace after they tried to share their Christian faith to Muslims at the June 18th (FULL SCREEN graphic of festival) International Arab festival. As the four were taken off to jail, many in the crowd shouted "Allah Akbar,” the same battle cry as used by Muslim suicide bombers, as the four were placed in handcuffs. (end graphic) Robert Muise (Muse) of the Thomas More Law Center says there is the very strong possibility that a federal Civil Rights case will be filed on behalf of the four Christians. Muise (Muse) also says, "It's evident that the Dearborn Police Department was more interested in placating Muslims than obeying the U-S Constitution." (graphic) State Representative Tom McMillin of Rochester Hills, Michigan has called on Michigan’s Attorney General Mike Cox to investigate the arrest of the Christians, who were exercising their First Amendment rights on public property. (end graphic)
-----------------------------
Story #5: Who says that California is soft on crime? The Orange County Register reports that a Southern California woman was sentenced to prison for one year for sending several hundred threatening text messages to herself. So why the big penalty? According to prosecutors, (graphic) Jeanne Mundango Manunga had told police that her sister-in-law and former boyfriend were the 'harassers' behind the text message threats. (end graphic)
---------------------
Story #6: A new report from Great Britain's Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists has released a study that claims the (graphic of preborn baby) baby in the womb is not able to says this study is being used in the attempt to challenge the U-K's current legalization of abortions up to 24-weeks. (end graphic) Monahan of the Center for Human Dignity of the Family Research Council in Washington also says it’s just a matter of time before studies like this are used by the American abortion industry to challenge the number of new pro-life laws now in this country. Monahan believes it will also be just a matter of time before the "pro-aborts" in the U.S. try to use this study to challenge the laws of Nebraska that all (graphic of baby in hand) abortions after 20-weeks are illegal. The Family Research Council says this study from Great Britain could lead to a profound moral injustice as those opposed to life become more cavalier about taking the life of the baby in the womb. (end graphic)

Story #7: (graphic) Michelle Obama was lobbying this week at the NAACP Convention for their big vote on whether or not they should issue a proclamation condemning the TEA Party movement for being ‘racist.’ In this offensive race-baiting move, Michelle Obama, in our opinion, is straining at gnats and swallowing camels, such as in the case of the New Black Panthers’ call to kill “crackers” (a.k.a. white people) and to kill their babies. (end graphic) Here’s the video of the Black Panthers call to mass murder white people. In contrast, if you want to see a TEA Party of largely white people, visit the CleanTV April 15, 2010 news special called, “Raleigh Sweet TEA Party.” You will see the entire event with no prejudice whatsoever. And now, let’s watch and listen to the clear words of hatred and calls for the death of white people by leaders of the New Black Panther Party. (Play 15 second segment of video of New Black Panther leaders calling for killing white people and their babies)
